Using EXPRESS PCB and want to show a ribbon cable connection.
Must be a better method?
any suggestions.
I like putting the plug in same schematic then design the PCboard then am sure I have the ribbon cable connections right. Then just remove the external jack etc. before doing toner transfer.

I don't know anything about Express PCB, but if the nets are named then there should be no requirement for them to be physically connected on the page for them to be a continuous net.

Having said that, should two circuits separated by a cable both have the same net each side of the cable?

I would usually design this kind of thing as two separate circuits, each starting or ending at one end of the ribon connector. That way there can be no interference between halves of the circuit when routing a PCB layout.
