Dave at the EEVBlog was recorded some videos of his initial impressions of KiCAD and DIPTrace. If you're looking for PCB layout software, these videos may be of interest. The descriptions below are Dave's.

EEVblog #253 - KiCAD Install & Schematic - First Impressions
A continuous 45min screen cast of Dave installing and running KiCAD for the first time, along with his first impressions and rants about things he finds along the way, mainly with the schematic editor portion of the program.

How easy and intuitive is it to use the schematic editor for the first time?

EEVblog #254 - KiCAD PCB First Impressions

An unedited hour long video of Dave playing around with the library editor and PCB modules in KiCAD for the first time.

EEVblog #255 - DIPtrace PCB CAD - First Impressions

A 1 hour non-edited video of Dave playing with the DIPtrace PCB package for the first time.

This is a not a tutorial, it's just a random first impression of using the program.

Good video but it was kinda bothersome to watch Dave try and use certain features of Diptrace but then this is his first time.
Export Gerbers = YES if its less than 300 pins.
A free upgrade to more pins (500 or 1000?) is available for non commercial use.
