There's plenty of software out there for any one need, and I thought I would help sift out a few trail and errors for free programs that will allow you to view, print or export gerber files.
- gerbv - A great free Gerber Viewer available from sourceforge.net
- GC Prevue - Free Gerber viewer; GC-Prevue is actually the industry standard software for viewing and printing electronic manufacturing data. It reads all of the common CAD generated electronic manufacturing outputs, including Gerber-X (RS-274X), Gerber-D (RS-274D), DPF (Barco), Excellon, Sieb & Meyer, HPGL, and HPGL2.
With the above programs, you can view Gerber files with relative ease. Keep in mind that if you have not had much exposure to Gerber formats or similar outputs, you may very well find the entire process a little forgien. To export a printed circuit board (PCB) to Gerber, you can use popular programs such as Eagle or Proteus Ares.
From there, you will be able to share your Gerber outputs with PCB manufactures or other people.
